The Service Learning Certificate Program in the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education at the University of Maryland offers students the chance to engage actively in five stages of Service Learning: Inventory and Investigation, Preparation and Planning, Action (Direct Service and Advocacy), Reflection, and Demonstration.*
Participants will achieve the following goals and gain skills and competencies in the following areas, through experiential activities, workshops, discussions, readings, and ongoing trainings:
- Peer Tutoring
- Personal and Professional Growth
- Social and Civic Responsibility
- Intellectual Development
