ABOUT EVENT
OMSE UPP Workshop II
The Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education (OMSE) in collaboration with University Counseling Center presents the Reaching IN: Navigating and Healing from Microaggressions Workshop
October 21, 2021
6pm – 7pm
Open to all UMD students. Attendance is required for second time OMSE program participants.
It is not uncommon for students of various racial and ethnic backgrounds to encounter race-related stress while navigating college and other spaces. Race-related stress can have an adverse impact on overall well-being and academic engagement. In this workshop, Counseling Center staff will engage you in a learning discussion of what microaggressions are, the impact on our well-being, how to respond, and coping strategies for race-related stress.
For more information or questions, contact Sheryll Famularcano, M. Ed., Coordinator, upp@umd.edu.
