Native American Indian Student Involvement

The Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education (OMSE) is dedicated to increasing the matriculation, retention, and graduation rates of Native American Indian (NAI) students at the University of Maryland. Currently, the Native American Indian community comprises less than 1% of the student population, with 36 students self-identifying with a specific tribe. OMSE aims to ensure that more NAI students have an exceptional experience at UMD while also providing opportunities for non-NAI students, faculty, and staff to learn about NAI culture and experiences throughout the academic year through cultural enrichment activities.
