Native American Indian Student Involvement

The Office of Multi-ethnic Student Education is committed to increasing the matriculation, retention, and graduation rates of Native American Indian students on campus at the University of Maryland. Currently, the Native American Indian community amounts to less than 1% of the student population, with 36 students self-identifying with a particular tribe. OMSE strives to ensure that more NAI students have an exceptional experience at UMD; we also strive to ensure that non-NAI students, faculty, and staff continue to learn more about NAI culture and experiences throughout the academic year by way of cultural enrichment experiences.
